A group of Bing Crosby correspondence
Carbon copies of 13 letters (28 pages total), 1954-1956, to Ghislaine de Boysson, a French model and journalist, together with a telegram from Crosby to her (with his handwritten message in French attached), a telegram from her to him, a large photograph of her modelling a Schiapparelli dress and two snapshots of Crosby and his son Lindsay with her. Crosby became close to de Boysson after the death of his first wife Dixie Lee, and before he married his second wife, Kathryn. Apart from sharing news of his children and of their mutual friends, he also discusses his films, writing of White Christmas, "It's a nice picture and that's just about all you can say for it. Well, make it a little better than that, make it a very nice picture, but certainly not great." Crosby married Kathryn Grant in 1957 and de Boysson later married English poet Lawrence Durrell.
