A Montgomery Clift-owned book

Bainville, Jacques. Petite Histoire de France. Tours: Maison Alfred Mame et Fils, 1929. Inscribed on the front free endpaper, "E. Montgomery Clift / Paris / 1. 1936 Fbe" and additionally signed by him. Clift would have been sixteen in 1936, and was just beginning his Broadway career. He had an unconventional childhood, raised in the United States and Europe and largely taught by tutors and his mother, who educated him in French, German, and Italian.
