A 17th century North German silver-gilt Kiddush cup
stamped with rampant griffin and incuse fleur de lys, probably Luneburg, also stamped with 20th century Dutch import mark
Tulip-shaped bowl formed in two halves and decorated with a continuous band of chain-work flutes on a matted ground below a moulded and applied girdle, the upper band chased with chainwork and Hebrew inscription, raised on a short fluted knop stem, the spread circular with acanthus leaf fringing and beads, height 12cm, weight 3.08oz.
