Footnotes
The arms of KENNEDY of co. Dublin impaling FAGAN evidently intended for the marriage of John Kennedy of Johnstown Kennedy who married Eleanor, daughter of Eaton Fagan of Feltrim, and died in 1758.
John and Eleanor Kennedy were grandparents of John Kennedy (1785 - 1848) who was created a baronet on 18 July 1836. The baronet's augmentation on the male side of this engraved shield is therefore an unwarranted anachronism.
