A George III silver-gilt two-handled cup and associated cover
cup by Paul Storr, London 1813, cover part marked and by Benjamin Preston, 1835
The small urn-shaped cup with part-fluted decoration beneath an applied narrow band of fine flutes, upper section applied on either side oak leaf wreathes, respectively engraved "The Hoo Races 1836" and "Won by Lady Emily rode by the owner", reeeded handles with acanthus leaf junctions, raised on domed foot with wide gadroon border, cover with unmarked finial, height 37cm, weight 53.44oz.
