A William IV silver two-handled sauce tureen and cover
by Robinson, Edkins and Aston Birmingham 1836
Shaped oval form with an over-hanging rim embellished with acanthus leaf scrolls and shell motifs, raised on four frosted acanthus leaf supports with similar decoration to border, engraved "Presented to the Honble John Croal, by His Fellow Colonists, as memorial of the grateful sense, they entertain of his exertions of valuable services as a s Colonial Commissioner of compensation for British Guiana Anno domini 1836", height 13cm, length 22cm, weight 32.70oz.
