The Daoguang reign is particularly famed for the production of porcelain 'medallion' bowls, of which examples survive in many collections including the Palace Museum, Beijing; see for example, The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum, Beijing: Porcelains with Cloisonne Enamel Decoration and Famille Rose Decoration, Hong Kong, 1999, no.216, which also features precious objects in the medallions but on a red ground.
