Two blue and white cylindrical vases

Late Ming Dynasty
One vibrantly painted with one bird swooping in flight above rockwork and another bird standing proudly beside peony and other flowers, in front of small dwellings in remote mountains, all above a band containing qilin prancing over waves at the foot and beneath bands of lotus scroll at the shoulder and stiff lappets at the neck, the other vase similarly decorated with birds, flowers and rockwork above a decorative band derived from stiff lappets. The taller 43cm (17in) high (2).
