A rare blue and white ewer and cover for the Islamic market
Kangxi
The flattened pear-shaped sides brightly painted in underglaze blue, one side with rockwork issuing sprays of peony and a peach and the other side with four chrysanthemum blossoms and rockwork, all surrounded by floral sprigs on the rest of the body, the spout, neck and handle with similar floral sprays, the cover divided into six panels each containing blossoms beneath the tall finial and attached to the handle with a bronze hinged fitting. 32.4cm (12 5/8in) high
