An attractive pair of inlaid lacquer rectangular hanging panels
18th/early 19th century
Each panel carved in the style of a display cabinet with eight smaller panels encircled with a narrow key-fret border, decorated with bogu patterns enclosing archaistic vessels, bi disc, tree jardinierès and scholar's objects inlaid with jades and other hardstones, reserved on a black diaper ground, the bottom rectangular panels carved with a mountainous landscape, all within a gilt border and a band of feathery leafy scrolls. 116.4cm high x 69.2cm wide (45 4/5in high x 27 1/5in) wide (2).
