A rare red lacquer carved 'three-dragon' box and cover

Qianlong
The cover crisply carved with three five-clawed dragons encircling a single flaming pearl at the centre, each vividly carved with bulging eyes, intricate scales and long flowing beards, all on a ground of freely-swirling waves, the box carved with rounded crested waves, the base and interiors lacquered plain black.
28.6cm (11¼in) diam. (2).
