A gilt-bronze figure of Amitayus
Cyclically dated to gengyin year (corresponding to AD1770) and of the period
Seated in dhyanasana with hands in dhyana mudra, the gaze serenely downcast through narrowed eyes, wearing a robe looped over the left shoulder flowing over the square base with openwork scrolled terminals, below a high foliate crown and adorned with jewellery, the base inscribed with the nine-character inscription. 21.5cm (8in) high
