This jade boulder is a fine example of the ability of the jade craftsman during the Qing Dynasty to convey in stone an image probably derived from painting. The rendering of the pagoda at the top of the cliffs, very possibly representing a temple or shrine, is particularly noteworthy for its fine architectural detail.
