A fine white jade archaistic ewer and cover

19th century
The even lustrous stone formed as a flattened ewer with a high spout, the body carved with a decorative band containing two confronted chilong on each side above a band of pendent lappets enclosing animal-masks, the handle formed as a stylised chilong, two further reticulated chilong lined up the spout and a fourth reticulated chilong nestled between the spout and neck, the cover plain with a delicate raised knop, wood stand and box.
