A pale green jade carving of a recumbent crane

18th century
The pebble carved as a crane with its head turned to look backwards and grasping in its beak a branch laden with two peaches on each side, the feathers of the crane meticulously carved and the slender legs and claws elegantly tucked underneath the body. 8.6cm (3½in) long
