A Roman marble votive relief fragment
Asia Minor, circa 2nd-3rd Century A.D.
Decorated with three registers, at the top a central eagle rising from a bust, flanked by two male figures wearing Phrygian caps, a female bust in each corner, the middle register with a central female figure, possibly Cybele or Artemis, standing behind a tripod with an animal/offering, her arms outstretched to either side to feed two horses with riders wearing Phrygian caps, the lower register with reclining oxen to the right, a female figure to the left, and two central Phrygian-capped man holding an animal skin with a kneeling phallic figure behind, 9¼in (23.5cm) high
