A Mesopotamian cuneiform clay tablet and envelope
Third Dynasty of Ur, 2037-2029 B.C.
An administrative document relating to bundles of reeds, regarding a loan taken out by Ur-Damu, and sealed by him, (the party taking on the obligation to repay the loan), there is an oath to the king with a list of witnesses, dating to the reign of King Shu-Sin, the tablet 1¾in x 1½in (4.5cm x 4cm); the envelope, 2¼in x 1¾in (6cm x 4.5cm ) (2)
