Depicting either seated or kneeling, with his head turned to the left and tilted upwards, with a frowning brow and stylised features, wearing a wreath on his head, a thick band over his shoulders and chest, his left arm outstretched, his right by his side, with hyper-defined musculature, 2¾in (7cm) high, mounted

This bronze appears to belong to the grotesque class of largely Alexandrian figurines produced in bronze and terracotta in the later Hellenistic and early Roman periods. For further discussion, cf. M. Bieber, Sculpture of the Hellenistic Age, New York, 1955, pp.96-7.
