A Hellenistic stone vessel fragment of Silenus
Mesopotamia, circa 3rd-1st Century B.C.
The surface of the stone with a brownish-grey coating, Silenus with long hair and moustache and a full beard, from a large vessel with a convex exterior, 9½in (24cm) high, inscribed with a inventory note 'No 3216 Babylonia'
