A 12 gauge Ithaca Grade 5E Knick single barrel trap shotgun

Serial no. 403720 (barrel marked 403723) for 1951, 12 gauge. 30 inch barrel with matte, vent rib. Red bead fore-sight, the white bead rear sight broken. Casehardened boxlock action engraved with scrollwork and two panel scenes: left side with gold pheasant, right side with gold snipe. Checkered beavertail fore-end and pistolgrip stock of dark, highly figured walnut. Gold escutcheon engraved SOL. Leather buttpad.
Condition: Very good. Barrel showing slight edge wear. Bright bore. Action with smooth, grey metal showing traces of faded casehardening. Sound wood showing scattered small marks and wear to varnish.
