A 12 gauge Ithaca Grade 5E New Ithaca Double boxlock ejector shotgun

Serial no. 455765 for 1929, 12 gauge. Blued 30 inch barrels with matte, vent rib and two white beads. Ejectors. Miller single trigger. Non-automatic safety. Casehardened boxlock action engraved with scrollwork and panel scenes: left side a pheasant; right side a gold snipe. Underside marked Made in U.S.A./Ithaca Gun Co. Ithaca, N.Y. Blued and engraved top lever and triggerguard. Checkered beavertail fore-end and pistolgrip stock of figured walnut. Vacant gold escutcheon. White Line black rubber buttpad.
Condition: Very good to fine. Barrels retain 99% old reblued finish. Bright bores with a few light marks. Action showing traces of case colors. Sound wood showing chips to varnish, light marks, large bruise to checkering on fore-end and two series of small dents, each 5"x 1/2", on either side of the comb.
