A British volunteer's percussion carbine by Barnett

The 22 3/4 inch blued .577 caliber barrel with no bayonet lug, single standing/double folding leaf rear sight and marked at the breech with indecipherable proof and 25. Lock marked Barnett/London. Brass furniture with two steel barrel bands. Walnut stock, right side of buttstock marked Barnett/Gunmakers/London, W.R. behind counterscrews and with two crown over 1 stamps behind triggerguard.
Condition: Very good as reconfigured. Barrel reblued and shortened, the stock shortened to accommodate it. Lock showing mottled grey metal. Sharp markings. Excellent wood, possibly with later coat of varnish.
