A British long sea service flintlock pistol
early 19th century

The 12 1/4 inch tapered round barrel in .56 smoothbore, the breech with ordnance view and proof marks. Tower lock marked with crown and GR cipher and crowned broad arrow. Brass furniture of standard pattern, the sideplate fitted with 8 inch steel belthook. Full walnut stock bearing various maker's and inspection marks and with indistinct arsenal mark dated 1806.
Condition: Very good. Barrel and lock parts cleaned to bright metal and showing light scratches and generally sharp markings. Sound wood showing numerous small marks.
