A all-steel Scottish flintlock pistol by John Campbell
Doune, circa 1720-30

The 9 3/4 inch two-stage .44 caliber barrel engraved overall with scrollwork incorporating fleur-de-lys. Lock signed John Campbell and showing traces of engraved scrollwork. All-steel stock with ram's horn butt. Left side fitted 4 1/2 inch steel belthook showing one panel of spiral fluting, the base pierced. Spirally fluted ball trigger, the touch hole pick en suite. Original steel ramrod.
Condition: Grey metal showing scattered light pitting and wear to decoration. Tip of pan cover chipped.
