A pair of English flintlock screwbarrel pistols by Charles Jarvis

late 18th century
Each with 3 3/8 inch tapered round screwbarrel in .43 caliber smoothbore. Crowned V and P Birmingham marks. Steel boxlock actions engraved C. Jarvis amid scrollwork on one side and with a drum and banner panoply on the other. Folding triggers. Flat-sided bag-shaped figured walnut grips, the side with inlaid silver wire borders, the wrists spines with silver wire scrollwork.
Condition: Very good. Metal with smooth, mottled patina. Sharp markings. Grips with few minor marks and some small losses to silver inlay.
