A scarce U.S. Model 1851 Springfield percussion cadet musket

The 40 inch barrel in .57 caliber smoothbore, the breech with V/P over eaglehead proofs. Tang dated 1852. Lockplate marked with eagle over US and Spring/Field/1851. Iron furniture. Walnut stock showing no inspection marks but with rack number 33 behind the barrel tang. Complete with period black leather sling.
Condition: Very good. Metal has been lightly cleaned at one time and shows sharp markings and some scattered minor pitting. Sound wood with numerous small marks.
