A U.S. Model 1835/40 Springfield flintlock musket

The 42 inch .69 caliber barrel marked at breech with V/P over eaglehead proofs, the side flat marked N H, possibly a New Hampshire surcharge and dated on the tang 1842. Lock with standard markings and also dated 1842. Iron furniture. Walnut stock, opposite the lock what appears to be a faint oval cartouche. Iron ramrod. With period buff leather sling.
Condition: Very good. Grey metal showing areas of spotting/light pitting and with sharp markings throughout. Fine wood with few light marks.
