A scarce U.S. Model 1817 Harpers Ferry flintlock artillery musket

The 36 inch .69 caliber barrel marked at breech with V/P over eaglehead proofs, Y/C/22 and on tang 1821. Lock marked with eagle over US and Harpers/Ferry/1821. Iron furniture. Walnut stock marked opposite lock AR cartouche and V/PN and behind triggerguard tang WN/IM.
Condition: Very good. Grey metal has been cleaned and shows areas of light pitting but very sharp markings. The bayonet stud missing, half of barrel tang screwhead broken. Generally clean wood showing scattered light marks and restoration at the wrist.
