A U.S. Model 1816 contract flintlock musket by R. & J.D. Johnson

The 42 inch .69 caliber barrel marked at breech US/NWP/P. the tang dated 1834. Lockplate marked US over eagle and - Johnson, the tail marked 1834/Middn Conn. Iron furniture. Walnut stock. Iron ramrod.
Condition: Very good as reconverted. Smooth grey metal with fairly sharp markings. Lock reconverted, the cock of incorrect type. Stock sanded and showing scattered light marks and with 11" x 1/2" pieces replaced on either side of fore-end between front and middle barrel bands.
