A U.S. Model 1808 flintlock contract musket by Ethan Stillman of Burlington, Connecticut

The 42 inch .69 caliber barrel marked at breech US over eaglehead CT in an oval/V. Tang marked V. Lockplate marked with eagle over E. Stillman and dated at the tail 1812. Interior parts, exterior screwheads and cock and with assembly mark in the form of a q, the interior of the lockplate with a large q. Iron furniture. Walnut stock marked opposite the lock with faint trefoil-shaped cartouche and also 3. The latter mark also appears of the counterplate screws. Iron ramrod.
Condition: Fine. Smooth grey metal showing sharp markings and some light spotting. Excellent wood with scattered storage marks, minor chipping at barrel tang and sliver missing a left front of fore-end. Barrel shortened during period of use, the bayonet stud and barrel bands repositioned at that time.
