A French Empire officer's chapeau

The black felt chapeau of typical early 19th century form, the front with black silk ribbon retaining a silk cockade. Interior with black leather sweatband and pink and white silk lining with gold maker's mark comprising an Imperial eagle over J. Pinaud/F-- de L. M. Imperiale/87. Richelieu.
Condition: Felt showing areas of wear, small tear at center of front, 1/2" tear at one edge at back fold and 3" tear at the other edge. Cockade with slight staining, the blue panel faded to silver. Lining showing some tattering/losses but 80% intact.
