An incised British military powder horn commemorating the Battle of the Plains of Abraham

The 8 inch cow horn with black-tinted incised decoration depicting the surrounding countryside showing a British man-of-war embarking two boatloads of troops and with the troop dispositions of the French and British armies at the beginning of the battle indicated on the Plains of Abraham. This below a panoply of arms and the Royal cipher GR and interspersed with various mottos including Nec Aspera Terrent/A Pox on they the French doggs/Confusion on them all/God Smite Monseer in his Wiked Crimes (sic) Spout missing the ususal brass mount. Brass plug with side-mounted suspension ring, the top incised with lines and engraved A/38.
Condition: Some chipping at spout. Scattered staining. Plug with dark patina.
