An early American militia cartridge pouch
19th century

The black leather belly box with scalloped flap, the underside with attachment loop; interior with front pocket and small inner flap covering the wooden block, which is pierced with eight cartridge cavities. Lower edge of pouch with brass button, the back with a single, broad belt loop.
Condition: Fine overall and showing some areas of surfacing crazing and some minor edge wear.

Size: 8 1/2" x 4 1/2" x 2".
