A boxed pair of Massachusetts militia officer's epaulets
circa 1815-35

Imported from France, the gold bullion epaulets with gold thread and sequined crescents, yellow silk lining and large brass buttons bearing the seal of the State of Massachusetts, Chief Massasoit, and the legend Massachusetts with back mark Standard. With original purplish/black moire pasteboard box, the interior of the lid with label Military Establishment./Bent & Bush,/Importers, Manufacturers and Dealers in/Army and Navy Chapeaux, Military Caps,Swords, Epaulettes, Sashes, Plumes &c./Corner of Court & Washington Streets,/Boston.
Condition: Epaulets showing some staining, one missing some sequins and thread to crescent finials. Box with light marks.
