An 1821 pattern American militia infantry officer's bell-crowned shako
circa 1821-35

The black leather shako fitted with silvered Federal eagle frontplate, silver bullion cords with tassel on the right and embossed and silvered chinscales with eagle rosettes. Lower edge reinforced with black leather band and pointed at the rear. Crown pierced and fitted with green feather plume. Brim with embossed border at rim. Black leather sweatband.
Condition: Leather sound and showing surface flaking and crackling and with some deformation to brim.
