A Civil War era non-regulation foot officer's sword

Slightly curved 32 inch blade with 16 inch panel etched with scrolling florals and panoplies, one side with US, the other with Federal eagle. Steel hilt of British 1827 pattern with oval panel engraved with Federal eagle, laurel wreath and E Pluribus Unum riband. Grey shagreen and copper wire-wrapped grip. Iron two-ring scabbard, the long mounts with line and scroll engraving.
Condition: Blade showing light spotting and some light wear to decoration. Hilt and scabbard with dark patina and scattered light pitting, the scabbard with several deep dents. Grip wrap showing some wear and with losses to wire.
