Slightly curved 32 inch blade with 11 inch panel etched with scrollwork and panoplies of arms; one side with US, the other with spread eagle. Ricasso marked Solingen with maker's mark of an arrow in oval enclosure, possibly an alternative mark for C.W. Clauberg. Brass hilt of British form with unusual molded panel of Federal eagle below stars and riband; pommel of French form. Grey shagreen and brass wire-wrapped grip. Iron two-ring scabbard.
Condition: Blade with mottled grey patina showing light wear to decoration. Brass with dark, unpolished patina. Grip with considerable losses to shagreen and missing small area of wire. Scabbard with dark grey patina.
