A brass-hilted non-regulation foot officer's sword

Slightly curved 32 1/2 inch Iron Proof blade with 11 inch panel etched with scrollwork, one side with US, the other with spread eagle and E Pluribus unum riband. Ricasso with brass Proved disc and marked W. Walscheid/Solingen. Brass hilt of British form, the guard pierced with small oval panel featuring eagle, US and E Pluribus Unum. Grey shagreen and copper wire-wrapped grip. Iron two-ring scabbard with brass throat and suspension mounts.
Condition: Clean blade with sharp decoration and some frosting. Hilt with mottled patina. Grip fine with some light wear. Scabbard with patches of spotting and two dents.
