A non-regulation foot officer's sword retailed by Horstmann & Sons

Slightly curved 32 inch blade with 18 inch panel etched with florals, one side with E Pluribus Unum riband, Federal eagle, Federal shield and marked W. Horstmann/& Sons/Philadelphia. Steel hilt pierced with eagle and US. Grey shagreen and copper wire-wrapped grip. Iron two-ring scabbard.
Condition: Blade showing dark, mottled patina and some light pitting. One side of blade retaining most fairly sharp decoration, the other side worn. Hilt and scabbard with mottled grey patina. Grip showing light wear.
