A German silver mounted Civil War era non-regulation foot officer's sword

Slightly curved 32 1/2 inch blade with 10 inch panel etched with leafy scrollwork with US on one side and Federal eagle on the reverse. Ricasso with maker marking W./Walscheid/Solingen and brass Proved disc. Pierced German silver hilt with Federal eagle over US. Grey shagreen and copper wire-wrapped grip. German silver two-ring scabbard with iron drag.
Condition: Blade with dark grey patina with some pitting towards the point, the decoration sharp. One branch of guard with slight bend. Grip wrap with minor scuffing. Scabbard with one deep dent on either side below center suspension mount.
