A non-regulation light infantry officer's saber retailed by Joseph H. Lambert of Philadelphia

Curved 29 1/2 inch blade with broad, shallow fuller and 16 inch blued and gilt panel engraved with conventional motifs retailer's markings J.H. Lambert and Philadelphia. Gilt brass hilt of French 1822 pattern. Leather and brass wire-wrapped grip. Leather scabbard with gilt brass mounts, the suspension rings retaining the brass swivels from the sword belt.
Condition: Excellent blade retains much original polish and virtually all the vivid blued and gilt decoration. Hilt with perhaps 50-60% gilt finish remaining. Grip showing some scuffing, the wire wrap with single break in the center but intact. Scabbard leather with surface scuffing and flaking but very sound. Mounts retain much gilt finish.
