An unusual early 20th century sword in the militia staff officer style of 1840-60

Straight 30 inch double edged blade with 12 inch panel etched with foliage, one side with Stanley B. Bosworth, the other Putnam Phalanx. Ricasso marked Horsfall & Rothschild/Hartford/Conn. Gilt brass hilt; quillon block and spatulate quillons molded with borders around a beaded ground, double chain guard, helmet pommel. Mother-of-pearl gripscales. Gilt brass scabbard engraved with foliage and with the owner's name below the throat.
Condition: Fine. Scabbard finish showing some wear and frosting.
