A U.S. Model 1850 Foot officer's sword

Slightly curved 31 inch blade with six inch etched and engraved panel; one side with US, the other with spread eagle. Brass hilt of standard pattern. Black leather and brass wire-wrapped grip. Black leather scabbard with brass mounts.
Condition: Blade with dark patina showing spotting/light pitting and some wear to decoration. Hilt with traces of gilt finish and showing dark, copper-colored patina, as do the scabbard mounts. Sound grip. Scabbard leather generally sound but with partial break at center.
