A U.S. Model 1850 Staff & Field officer's sword by Horster

Slight curved 31 inch blade with 18 inch panel etched and engraved with scrolling florals and panoplies of arms; one side with US, the other with Federal eagle and E Pluribus Unum. Brass hilt of standard pattern. Grey shagreen and brass wire-wrapped grip. Blackened iron scabbard, the brass mounts with simple line borders.
Condition: Blade with grey patina showing spotting/light pitting towards the point. Grip fine. Scabbard with wear and curdling to finish, the mounts with dark patina.
