A French Model 1767/75 infantry grenadier's saber briquet

Slightly curved 22 1/2 inch blade marked on the spine M-ture R-le D'Alsace. One side engraved Grenadier, the reverse with a large worn letter and the inspection mark of Fau de Orgeans, Lt. Col. A.
Condition: Blade showing areas of pitting, wear to markings, nicks to edge and rounded point.
