A French Model An XI infantry saber briquet

Slightly curved 23 inch blade bearing three faint inspection marks on one side, the spine marked Mfre Imp du Klingenthal Mai 1812. One-piece brass D-form hilt, the knucklebow stamped Versailles and inspection marks F and B. Brass-mounted leather scabbard.
Condition: Blade with mottled grey metal showing small patches of light pitting. Scabbard showing surface crackling but sound, the mounts showing numerous dents.
