A scarce Sumatran Pedang Lurus
19th century

Slightly curved 14 1/2 inch pamor blade sharpened on the inner side with 7 inch sharpened false edge. Silver hilt with short, rounded crossguard, the grip cast and chased with scrolling floral forms. Silver scabbard chased with panels of floral meander within multiple borders, the front surmounted with panel of a galloping horse, the reverse fitted with belt clip.
Condition: Blade with grey patina showing some light pitting and frittering to edges. Hilt and scabbard with scattered dents and marks.
