A scarce Irish flank officer's lion pommel short saber

Broad, curved 27 1/2 inch single edged blade with 9 inch false edge, full-length central fuller and narrow 17 inch fuller below the spine. Gilt brass hilt comprising slotted guard, fluted knucklebow with scrolling side branches and lion's head pommel. Ribbed elephant ivory grip bound with broad silver tape and strands of twisted silver wire. Original black leather scabbard with gilt brass throat and tip, the throat with frog and stud and suspension ring and marking on the the reverse in punched dots Read Cutler--/Par--/Dublin.
Condition: Blade with areas of light pitting/staining and some shallow nicks to edge. Hilt retains perhaps 40% of the gilt finish. Grip excellent, ivory with age patina and barking. Scabbard scuffed but sound, the throat with 70% gilding, the tip with traces.
