A Victorian Honorable Artillery Company presentation sword

Narrow, slightly curved 33 inch blade with 14 inch panel etched with scrollwork, one side with regimental initials HAC above a field gun, the reverse with riband inscribed Presented/with other accoutrements/to/William Lyster Holt/on his appointment as/Major H.A.C./by Privates/of No. 4 Company/Who have the honor/to be under his command/15th Oct. 1887. Steel gothic hilt, the guard with grenade engraved VR; grey shagreen-wrapped grip. Steel two-ring scabbard.
Condition: Blade fine and showing some light spotting towards the point and at the ricasso. Hilt with some light pitting, the grip missing the wire wrap. Scabbard with dark patina, areas of light pitting overall and a few minor dents.
