A lot of three small swords
Comprising: 1) Narrow 29 inch blade of hexagonal section, the forte engraved and gilded with strapwork, scrolls and pictorial panel of a cherub and peacock with French motto concerning Love and Pride; iron hilt decorated overall with a repeating design of rows of diamonds ona silvered ground, the knucklebow fastened to the pommel by a screw. 2) 32 inch blade of hexagonal section, 18th century, later brass hilt with boat-shaped guard, ovoid pommel and brass grip. 3) 33 inch blade of diamond section, 18th century, later brass hilt crudely cast and chased with scrollwork, the pommel with masks, copper wire-wrapped grip.
Condition: 1) Blade with areas of pitting, hilt retains areas of silvered finish, tip of knucklebow broken where it is screwed to pommel. 2) Blade with dark patina pitted overall, hilt probably modern. 3) Blade pitted overall, hilt modern.
